On May 25th 2016, Firalis biobank facilities were certified NF S 96-900 (French norm for quality of biological resource centers (CRB)) by meeting regulatory requirements in terms of quality, security, traceability and ethics. Established in 2014, Firalis biobank serves the conservation of biological sample collections (blood, cells, tissues …), obtained from own research and from collaborations.
Following a quality audit by AFNOR in December 2015, assessing the different stages of the process, the NF S 96-900 certification was granted to Firalis for a duration of three years in May 2016. This certification affirms the quality commitment that Firalis is dedicating to its partners and clients.
Quality is at the center of Firalis biobanking activities, with traceability across all stages, from initial sample delivery to disposal, through storage and collection of essential clinical and biological data. With a capacity of more than 2 Mio samples, Firalis offers a dedicated solution to manage and monitor biological resources for the pharmaceutical industry and research organizations, ensuring the quality for long-term storage of biospecimens. The regulatory compliant storage facilities are operated by high competent staff under a strict quality management and control policy.
Having quality established as a core concept since creation, 2016 is a thriving year for Firalis in terms of quality achievements. In addition to the NF S 96-900 certification for biobanking activities, Firalis has also successfully passed follow-up audits regarding ISO 9001 and ISO 13485 certifications for its assay development and production units, as well as the ISO 17025 accreditation1 for its testing laboratories.
